Ram Kumar, who had already spent years volunteering at the grassroots level, witnessed the extreme vulnerability of the visually impaired during the lockdown. He encountered blind individuals who were unaware of the national lockdown and were struggling for basic survival. This experience led him to formalize his efforts, officially launching the foundation in August 2020 (and later incorporating it in 2022) to provide a permanent safety net for those often left behind by society.

​Ram Kumar’s leadership focuses on a holistic approach that moves beyond mere charity toward total independence. The foundation’s work is organized into several key areas:
​Residential Care & Nutrition: The foundation operates a residential facility in Delhi that provides a safe home, free of cost, for blind girls. Many of these residents were abandoned by their families due to poverty or the perceived burden of their disability.
​Education and Career Coaching: Education is the foundation's cornerstone. It supports students from primary school through post-graduation. Ram Kumar personally oversees career counseling, providing specialized coaching for government exams (SSC, Banking, Teaching) and technical skills like Braille and computer typing.
​Assistive Technology: Recognizing that technology is a "great equalizer," the foundation provides essential tools such as smart canes, Braille papers, and specially equipped laptops to help students keep pace with their sighted peers.
​Mobility and Rehabilitation: New residents receive orientation and mobility training, teaching them to navigate their surroundings independently using white canes.
​Social Empowerment: In a unique initiative, the foundation also facilitates matrimonial support for blind couples, providing financial assistance and household essentials to help them start dignified family lives.
